Finally! Right? lol
The recordings will include the readings from the day.
Pentecost 4
God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. The man convicted of his sins by the Holy Law of God confesses he is unworthy. Not so the hardened sinner. He prides himself on his righteousness. He believes he needs no grace, points to his works, and then points an accusing finger at others. Who is it that you have judged? Who is it that has sinned in a way you count as unforgiveable? Christ Jesus received tax collectors and sinners and ate with them. He left the host of heaven and became Man to redeem the lost sheep. He shines the light of His saving Gospel upon you, that you may be His. He lays you across the shoulders that bore the cross for you, and carries you home. And there is joy in heaven over you.

This was my first attempt using Zion’s Zoom recorder. The settings were not optimal and there is a LOT of clipping. I tried to clean it up, but it sounds awful. It was a learning experience. You have been forewarned.

Pentecost 5
Be merciful. Judge not. Condemn not. Forgive. Give. These are commands, imperatives, from the Lord. Those who would be called sons of God are to be as the Father is – merciful. Consider what, in His love, in His mercy, God has done for you. Mercy is the fruit of love. So it is only in mercy that you can regard your brother rightly. Jealousy and pride cannot see aright. By them you greatly exceed any speck of sin you may see in your brother. Thanks be to God, He does not measure back to you with the same measure you use. He measures His Son. He considers His holiness, His mercy, His forgiveness, His giving, His withholding of judgment. And these He counts as yours through faith in Him.
